Of no concern to anyone except your editor… our little blog, started about two and a half months ago, has gotten over 25,000 visits…
It’s been a humbling learning process, starting from scratch like this.
Before coming down to Argentina, we helped build and manage a daily email newsletter with a list of over 400,000 subscribers… so, getting less than a hundred ‘visits’ per day to this blog seemed like such small potatoes we almost wanted to stop bothering with it.
But things have picked-up and we enjoy writing to you about what’s happening down here…
If there’s anything you’d like to hear about from way south of the border… places, pictures, thoughts, whatever… just leave a comment on this thread and we’ll see what we can do.
Also, if you don’t want to miss out on anything then click on the subscribe link in the upper left column and get updates delivered via email…
Thanks for reading!

keep it up Will.
You provide good insight.
sometimes you make my day: it is worth it: and keeps your writing skills polished: Richard Russel is a good writer and he still lasts with his 10K subscribers “dow theory”

Hey Bill, I’m just wondering why you didn’t get your own proper WordPress blog instead of using a secondhand version from WordPress.com. I have dozens of WordPress blogs, and I can run Adsense ads on them without a worry… but then they are my own WordPress installations, not from WordPress.com.
If you put your own WordPress blog up, you can edit it in any way you wish… you can add Adsense, other affiliate ads etc… you can configure a WordPress blog so it looks like a normal static website. You can make it look like a Store, anything you can think of can be done with a WordPress blog.
The mistake you made is that you went to WordPress.com… you are building a nice blog that is automatically making another good link to WordPress.com. They have a link on every page you make.
The true original WordPress website is at http://www.wordpress.org … use your brains man, and install a WordPress blog of your own on your domain. That’s when you will start having some real fun. If you have cPanel with Fantastico scripts on your hosting account, you can install WordPress in a minute.

Dear Russell,
I’m not a babe-in-the-woods on this topic… I have other installed wordpress websites… But for my own blog, that doesn’t really have the purpose of making money, the wordpress hosted blog was the easiest option.
You’re certainly right about the advantages of the installed version… I’m using it for some pretty complex websites…
For this it doesn’t seem necessary…
But, I am probably going to change the domain on this blog to get better SEO because I could be ranking better for BA search terms…

I love reading about Buenos Aires and anything Argentinian. A friend wants to go to Argentina to ride horses. If you have any info or pictures on that, she would love it. We saw what you wrote about Salta, but if there are stables closer to Buenos Aires, we’d love to know and see photos. Also, wineries!
Thanks.

Aloha Will!
Very nice site you have here. I write about travel too, and it’s fun to see someone else’s work who has the same design aesthetic as mine. Stop by my site and say hello.
Mahalo,
Michael
